At Facebook, there is this cool group called "Caricaturama Showdown 3000", which has weekly contests. Each week they feature a celebrity that every member can sketch to be voted on at the end of the week. There are some awesomely talented artists in the group! This week the celeb target was the actor James Cromwell. I chose to depict him as the character he played in startrek first contact: Zefram Cochrane, the inventor of the warp drive. This is all digital - done with a small wacom 4x6 inch bamboo digital pad in Photoshop cs5. The whole process spanned two days but I only spent an hour total on the sketch.
