Synthesized "Old Master"

When I was a kid, one of the drawing games I had was making up "old masters". I would first look through an art history book. Then I'd close the book and draw something that I felt looked like an old master. Of course I was influenced by what I had seen but I tried not to copy any one particular painting. When I look at this painting, I feel like I've seen this pose or attitude before in another painting but can't remember exactly where. One of my facebook friends suggested it could be Jack Benny, My sister thought it looked like me. Oh well. This is what I call a "brain phart". Its something I fabricated out of my head. The whole process took about 20 min.

  1. In case my first attempt to comment didn't work because I wasn't signed of to Blogspot. This Brain Phart is a gas. The pose is similar to Jack Benny, but I am also reminded of Michael Wm. Kaluta in this painting!
