I love Daumier's political caricatures! The Chicago art institute has a marvelous bronze set of his "celebrities of the Juste Milieu" . This is a simple sketch from one of the little bronzes. I always want to linger longer than is 'socialably acceptable" when I have visited that display. This head is just one of about 30 or 40 small busts he sculpted of these local characters. They are visually fun to look at and proof to me that caricaturing can be a timeless art appreciated by generations in the future. I have been to the Temple. :)
This blog is dedicated to displaying William Fiesterman's daily sketches that he has been posting on Facebook.
